Almost didn’t manage a photo tonight, but the sunflowers saved me. They are still going strong – from the first in July and the latest shot at the start of August.

I replicated the “flash at night” technique from the August shot to capture tonight’s sunflower. Although focused on the centre the off-focus petals on the left look nicely silken.

I also attempted an alternative, handheld, natural light, deliberately blurred (because handheld doesn’t cut it for 60 seconds+) shot, but I’ll include it here rather than posting a second shot for the day.
