Travel

2365 miles in 10 days and we’re home. Actually, we’ve been home since Saturday night but I’ve been too busy catching up to blog. The trip was great but I sure was glad to come home. The short version is we hiked up a storm, stayed in consistently great accomodation (fantastic B&B, historic lodge, boutique hotels, etc.), and saw some amazing scenery as well as tons of wildlife. The weather was perfectly sunny and slightly on the hot side but our food was mostly average to poor with a couple exceptions. We celebrated well for our 3rd anniversary and G’s 36th birthday. We enjoyed comparing the US experience to the Canadian one (we visited 1 US National Park and 2 Canadian ones) and were shocked that the US park had virtually no snow while the Canadian ones were outrageously expensive.

Anyway, more posts to come about the details. In case you’re wondering, my pregnant self survived just fine. I hiked with no problems and generally endured to trials of travel (i.e. long car rides) very well. My appetite’s gone through the roof but otherwise, no major developments. G’s taken about a million pics of my belly (some more fit for public consumption than others!) – I’ll try to get some online soon.
