Interesting
Staceylynn says, “Don’t tell me my food is interesting“.
There are many things that Lucy finds funny these days. The newest is brushing her teeth. We’ve instituted a new part of the bedtime routine wherein Lucy washes her hands and then brushes her teeth (sans toothpaste). She thinks it’s HILARIOUS. Obviously, she doesn’t know yet that she’s not supposed to like it. Shhhh…..I’m not telling.
Lucy had her official one-year check up at the doctor’s today. Although she was quite fussy beforehand, she managed to be in a shockingly good mood for the duration of our appointment. Of course, our doctor was “wowed” by her amiable nature and pronounced Lucy to be in excellent shape both in terms of health and general development. L weighed in at 20 pounds 7 ounces, and is just shy of 30 inches long. That puts her at just under the 50th percentile for weight and 75th for height. Her head is also in the 75th percentile- the first time it has been below 90th! The doctor praised Lucy’s early rejection of a bottle (in favor of a sippy cup) and called her “fearless” with regards to exploring and movement. I’m not sure I’d call her “fearless”- she still seems a bit timid when it comes to walking and standing, although she has taken an interest in climbing things. In any case, despite the various illnesses of late, Lucy’s managed to gain a pound in less than a month and is generally thriving. We’re happy to see her progress and, I think, just the tiniest bit sad to see our baby growing into a little girl.
