18th December 2002 – overnight Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Sydney, Australia

And so we, mostly, leave Asia. A small return is in our future and in a later time I will travel to Korea as if it was as nearby as Portland or Whistler, but for now we wind up our last week. We leave the delights of Ko Lanta, have our last dip in the swill and excitement of Bangkok (including chancing our luck one too many times with the overnight buses), a last aweseme Wat and Buddha, shopping and then Malaysia. A solid couple of days in Kaula Lumpur barely gave us a taste for it although we had some somewhat civilized experiences with the Petronas Towers and a Beethoven concert (I may have napped a little in comfort). And thus, onwards to Oz, following the yellow brick road.
